to Pat's Story
My story started about 14 years ago. I kept getting a lot of infections that just kept coming back and then I noticed my skin hurt. I described it as if it was being burned. The doctor did some test and was sending me to a Rheumatologist. He said I had a connective tissue disease and I was scared to death. The first doctor that I went to told me I had Lupus and gave me all the reading material and put me on Plaquenil. I went in for my second visit and he said I had an autoimmune disease. (My ANA was positive, very high.) After a couple of years, I changed doctors and I have now been with the same one for 11 years. Pretty much the same thing happened there but I have stuck it out. Two years ago, she diagnosed me with Sjogren's and Fibromyalgia. Then recently with Myositis. I still work, but I have days that I can hardly go. I have a lot of joint pains, muscle pains, and recently my spine is hurting a lot. My biggest thing is when I have a flare and I'm just sooo tired that when I lie down it doesn't even get you rested It's really hard to try and explain this to people. They don't understand, not even your family. I would like to hear from those of you that have any suggestions. God Bless You.
